Electrolytes are one of my favourite supplements to take since they are easy to lose when you are getting a sweat on. Electrolytes such as sodium, magnesium and potassium are essential for muscle conduction. I always make sure I add pink salt or Real Salt to my meal post-workout or sip on some grass-fed organic bone broth or our Glow Tonic which are both rich in these important minerals.
I recently made these gummies for a friend who is training for a 50K trail run so that he can be on top of his electrolytes without having to use store-bought gummies or gels which are typically full of processed sugar and other crap ingredients.

These gummies have added MCT oil and collagen peptides to provide extra energy while you are running in a ready-to-use format that decreases stimulation of the GI tract when consumed to avoid stomach cramps during training. Collagen is also a great supplement to take if you are running long distances (which I don’t recommend doing regularly) in order to help support the health of your joints and muscles.
These gummies would also be a great snack for the whole family, including your little ones when you want to give them a candy-like treat full of quality ingredients that also provide a lot of great vitamins and minerals.

Raspberry Lemon Electrolyte Gummies:
1 C Frozen organic raspberries (thawed)
1 Lemon juiced + zest
5 whole dates
3 Electrolyte Packages OR
3 Tbsps of coconut water superfood powder
2 Tbsps chia seeds
2 Tbsps MCT oil
2 Tbsps Grass-fed collagen peptides
4 Tbsps Grass-fed Gelatin
2 C water
optional: Liquid Stevia drops to taste
Directions:
-Take raspberries out of the freezer beforehand to thaw or add them to a bowl and cover with 1 C hot water – add dates to this as well to soften prior to blending
-Add all of the ingredients except to electrolytes and gelatin to a blender and blend on high until smooth
-Add this liquid to a pot + extra water over med heat and warm. Slowly add the electrolytes while stirring and then the gelatin while stirring. This is important to stir to make sure that the gelatin doesn’t clump together
-Once the ingredients are fully combined, take off the heat and add the mixture to silicone moulds
-Place in the fridge until the liquid has set. Take gummies out of silicone moulds by pulling them apart and popping them out. Store in the fridge in a reusable container or freeze for another day
Note: Collagen peptides and gelatin are NOT the same. Gummies will not gel if you only use collagen – gelatin is a must for this recipe.
